2022 ENVR Workshop - Housing

Hotels:

The conference will be held at the Provo Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in downtown Provo, UT. A small group of rooms are available at a group rate of $129/night. Participants are strongly encouraged to book a hotel early to ensure availability, the best prices and government rates. Below are links to book a room at the Marriott at the group rate and a few other hotel options:

Hotels at the conference venue:

Hotels a short Uber ride or Link Scooter Ride away from the conference venue. If many participants end up staying at these hotels, we will arrange transportation to/from the conference venue. If you end up booking a hotel at one of these options, please alert the conference local organizer (Matt Heaton).

Travel to/from SLC Airport:

Provo is about 45 miles south of Salt Lake City. Attendees will fly into Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) then commute down. Below are a few commuting options and prices from the airport to Provo.

Uber is plentiful at the SLC airport and around Provo. An Uber ride from SLC to Provo will cost about $50. Travel time to Provo will be about 50 minutes in regular traffic.
Express Shuttle is a shared van service from SLC Airport to Provo. The cost will be about $40 per person. If using this service, we strongly encourage you to make a reservation in advance. Travel time to Provo will be about 50 minutes in regular traffic.
Public Transportation via UTA Trax and Frontrunner is available. Trax is Utah's light rail system and Frontrunner is Utah's commuter train. The cost for getting to Provo from SLC via train is about $6. Here are instructions on how to get to Provo on the train.
- Follow airport signs to the "lightrail" UTA Trax Green Line Station.
- At the airport Trax station, purchase a one-way Frontrunner Ticket from North Temple Station to Provo (the Frontrunner Ticket counts for BOTH the Trax and Frontrunner).
- Take the Trax Green Line from the Airport Station (lines run about every 15 minutes) to the North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe Station (5 stops; about 12 min).
- Get off the Trax Green Line at the North Temple Bridge Station and take the Elevators/Escalators down to the Frontrunner Platform.
- Take the next Southbound Frontrunner (south bound trains will run back under the bridge you just took the escalator off of) to the Provo Station (about 1 hour train ride). Frontrunner trains run every 30 min during rush hours (5am-9:30am, 3pm-8pm Weekdays) and every hour otherwise.
- Total travel time via train is about 75 minutes but the Frontrunner Train has tables, charging stations and free Wifi so you can work while you ride.
- All the hotels listed above are within walking distance of the Provo Frontrunner Station. However, most hotels (including the Marriott and Hyatt) will pick you up for free from the Provo Station if you call them. Or, you can always take an Uber.
