The most successful Industry Statisticians are practical, utilize critical thinking skills and focus on results. They possess both technical and communication skills, an unselfish focus on the customers, a deep understanding of the business, and a relentless desire to have positive impact on the organization. Today we will highlight the necessary skills and traits through the experiences of a Statistician practicing in Industry for more than three decades. 

Bio:
Mr. Philip R. Scinto is a Senior Technical Fellow for the Lubrizol Corporation where he has been employed since 1989. He is also a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. Phil holds a B.S., Cornell University, and M.S., Carnegie Mellon University, in Statistics, and is known for: applying innovative statistical solutions in industry; for practical applied research in supersaturated designs and statistical engineering; and for his leadership roles in the ASA. His role in the development and management of a comprehensive formulation modeling and optimization system accessible on the Lubrizol Information Warehouse (Q.LIFE®) is among his proudest accomplishments.
