Join us at 2pmET for a webinar with Katie Genadek, Principal Economist, U.S. Census Bureau.  Talk is titled:  Newly Available Individual-Level U.S. Tax Data from 1969-1994

    Register at this LINK

Katie Genadek is a Principal Economist and the Director of the Decennial Census Digitization and Linkage (DCDL) project at the U.S. Census Bureau. The DCDL project includes digitizing images of the 1960-1990 decennial censuses, capturing information from the images, and linking these data into the Census Bureau's Data Linkage Infrastructure. Dr. Genadek also works on developing data products and infrastructure for the Economic Directorate of the Census Bureau, and she the acting division chief of the Economic Statistical Methods Division. Dr. Genadek has a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.

This talk describes a series of linkable individual-level data from late-twentieth century federal in-come tax returns. The full universe Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 1040 files from 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, and 1994 were held at the Census Bureau since originally being delivered by the IRS shortly after each year's tax returns were processed. The data were recently made available for request through the Census Bureau's restricted data research program.
