Consulting Section Members:
I just wanted to remind everyone that the deadline for poster, roundtable, topic-contributed and regular-contributed abstracts (as well as overview lectures) is quickly approaching. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 11:59 p.m. on February 1, 2011.
Section members may wish to consider 'topic contributed' sessions as a way to bring together a number of different abstracts on a related topic. It is a great way to network and to reconnect with former friends and colleagues and can even serve as the basis for new papers and/or research ideas. For those who are interested in topic-contributed sessions, please remember that it often takes a week or two to bring together the ideas, the speakers, and the abstracts in a meaningful way-so get going now!
Our section also needs session chairs. If you plan on being at the JSM in Miami Beach this year (July 30 through Aug 4) but do not have plans to present a paper of your own and would still like to be involved, please let me know. We very often need session chairs and discussants. See you in Miami Beach!
