    hi everyone

at the Section on Statistical Consulting topic contributed panel session entitled Surviving Academia as an Applied Biotatistician at the JSM last week
    (http://www.amstat.org/meetings/jsm/2012/onlineprogram/ActivityDetails.cfm?SessionID=207871),
I mentioned the New Researcher's Survival Guide by the IMS (2005) as a great resource for mentors and mentees (regardless of the specific research area).  I was asked to post the link to the listserv.

    so here it is.

Thanks for posting that, Stuart.  I'll share it with a few colleagues who are considering providing more professional development mentoring for their grad students in quantitative psychology (e.g., local panel discussions).
