Is anyone else planning on going to the Stat Practice Conference in Orlando next week? Does anyone have a recommendation about which sessions/speakers might be esp. interesting?
    Thanks,

I am going to the conference.  I'll be talking about pro bono consulting on humanitarian and human rights projects.

I didn't see any replies to this. We have quite a variety speakers, teachers, and poster presenters. I suggest you look for things on the program that you would consider potential enhancements to the way you practice statistics -- methods you haven't had the time to investigate or master but you might want to use or use with greater confidence, soft skills that could increase your effectiveness, ... I can't evaluate that for you. I'm looking forward to the short course by Babinek and Magidson, the session with two talks on mining, Russ Lenth's talk, and several of the posters. But that's me.

This is our first go at this coference so there is great desire to get your feedback especially as we are in the planning stages for the follow up in 2013.

Thanks to those who've sent me emails about their conference attendance--most of you as one-on-one replies. The consensus seems to be that one should choose talks/the track of most interest personally. I understand this point of view, but I also think that sometimes it is better to hear an especially knowledgeable speaker regardless of the topic, so I appreciate the couple of suggestions I have received.
Thanks again & I'll look for those of you who've told me how to find you!
