    Dear colleagues

I have read the very informative posts from members of this community and I was wondering if I could ask if anyone has a good clear reference on determining the sample size for a matched case-control study for a continuous exposure. The particular study I am involved with is determining the association of biomarkers with heart failure. Most references deal with a binary exposure not a continuous exposure. Also it is intended to have a 1:m matching of controls to cases where m would also be determined based on power considerations.

Thank you very much for your help.
