Dear CNSL Members:
As past-chair of the ASA Section on Statistical Consulting, I am chairing the nominations committee to nominate eight members to run for election for the following four leadership positions:
- Chair-Elect 2018
- Secretary/Treasurer 2018-2019
- Council of Sections Representative 2018-2020
- Executive Committee At Large 2018-2020
Serving in such leadership positions can be a great opportunity to guide the section for the benefit of its members and advance one’s own career through networking opportunities. To become a section officer you must commit to attending JSM every year during your tenure.
If you are interested in serving the section in any of these positions, please let me know by Election Day (Nov 8). You can also reach out to two of the other members of the nominations committee: Isabella Ghement <ghement@yahoo.ca)> or Richard.Ittenbach@cchmc.org.
Descriptions of duties of the Chair-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer can be found on the CNSL microsite: http://community.amstat.org/cnsl/aboutus/officers
Below is a brief summary of leadership responsibilities for the other two open positions.
Council of Sections (COS) Representative 2018-2020
Represent the section on the COS: Attend 2 COS meetings at JSM, report COS activities to the section at 2 meetings at JSM (4 total meetings at JSM every year), attend ~2-3 section Executive Committee (EC) meetings per year via telephone/Hangout, respond to some COS-related emails throughout the year.
Executive Committee (EC) At Large 2018-2020
Throughout your 3-year tenure: Work with other section officers and members on one initiative to benefit section members, attend 2 meetings per year at JSM, attend ~2-3 section EC meetings per year via telephone/Hangout, respond to some section-related emails throughout the year.
