  • 1.  Invited Session Proposals Sought

    I am pleased to announce that the Statistical Consulting Section has been allocated 3 invited sessions for the 2017 JSM in Baltimore, Maryland. Please consider submitting a proposal.
     
    The theme for JSM 2017 is "Statistics: It's Essential," but not all sessions have to adhere to this theme. Formats vary for invited sessions; however, all are 110 minutes in length and have a session chair. The sessions typically include 2–6 participants, including the chair, with two of the most popular and successful formats being 2–3 speakers with a discussant or a panel discussion of 3–5 panelists.     Please submit the session proposal online at http://www.amstat.org/meetings/jsm/2017/submissions.cfm. The submission site will be open through Tuesday, September 6, 2016 (11:59 p.m. Eastern, 9:59 p.m. Pacific), for session proposals.

    Hello Everyone,

     

    As Chair-Elect, I wanted to take a moment to thank Dean for his work in putting together a great set of roundtables at JSM. I knew he would do a superb job. Also to Isabella Ghement, Program Chair, for a wonderful program overall. We had a lot of strong events with great feedback. Thank you to both of you.

     

    Dean will be Program Chair for JSM 2017 and, with the input and participation of you, the members, I know it will be another high quality program.

     

    I want to also thank all of the session chairs, organizers and speakers, too many to name. Without you, it would not have been possible. Thank you!
