    1. Description of Service:

    1.1 Contractor shall provide statistical consultation for complex data analyses related to the Alcoholism Course throughout Midlife project. Contractor skills shall be used to document the nature of variability in drinking course, and to identify individual, interpersonal and contextual factors which are expected to predict transitions from relapse to remission and remission to relapse. Further, contractor will use a discordant twin approach to seek documentation of environmental influences (not confounded by genetic influences) predictive of transitions between problem and no problem drinking. Contractor shall work remotely with study staff and will provide his/her own equipment. This involves complex data management and analyses as well as contributions to scientific writing. Contractor shall have expertise in creating specialized data sets necessary for replicating earlier findings and supporting advanced analytic procedures (i.e., survival analyses, discordant twin analyses, and latent growth mixture modeling). The COTR will be Timothy Mooney, administrative officer. He will work closely with study staff to monitor contract compliance through monthly e-mails and quarterly through telephone conference calls.

    2. Contractor Requirements & Duties:

    2.1 Contractor must have expertise in survival analyses, discordant twin analyses, and latent growth mixture modeling.

    2.2 Contractor must have had previous experience with datasets associated with the Family Twin Studies (Grant Number: R01 AA 11667, R01 DA14364, R01 AA 016402, Vietnam Era Twin Registry archival data, PIs: Dr. Theodore Jacob and/or Dr. Kathleen Bucholz).

    2.3 Specific Duties:

    ? Perform statistical consultation (see 2.1) related to the Alcoholism Course throughout Midlife project.

    ? Submit daily summaries of analyses performed through email as well as a plan for next round of analyses per day worked.

    ? Participate on conference calls discussing progress and results (twice per month).

    ? Contribute to scientific writing.

    ? Contractor will provide aggregated data sets for analyses completed on October 3rd and November 2nd.

    ? Contractor will provide summaries of work completed on each day completed and will submit final drafts of manuscripts by December 30th 2011.

    ? Submit invoices detailing work performed and number of billable days.

    3. Education:

    3.1Contractor must have a doctorate of philosophy with expertise in statistics and/or behavioral genetics.
