Happy New Year! I would like to remind those of you who are planning to attend JSM 2016 (July 30 – August 4, 2016; Chicago) that the deadline for submitting your topic-contributed session proposal for this conference is next Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
As detailed at https://www.amstat.org/meetings/jsm/2016/participate.cfm, topic-contributed sessions include papers, panels, and posters:
- Topic-contributed paper sessions consist of five speakers, made up of at least three presenters and at most two discussants; each speaker has 20 minutes to present.
- Topic-contributed panels consist of three to six members providing commentary or a point of view on the panel topic.
- Topic-contributed poster sessions have 3-6 participants with posters addressing a common topic.
Proposals for topic-contributed sessions must be submitted to the online system by 11:59 pm EST on January 14, 2016, via Steps 1 and 2 outlined on the website https://www.amstat.org/meetings/jsm/2016/participate.cfm.
Proposals must include a session title, a general description of the session, a list of participants, and tentative talk titles.
If you would like to run your idea for a topic-contributed session proposal by me prior to the submission deadline, I would be pleased to provide you with suggestions for creating a strong proposal.
