The Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (CSTAT, www.cstat.msu.edu) at Michigan State University is now recruiting applicants for two new Academic Specialist positions: one Senior Biostatistician position and one Senior Statistician position. Both positions are 12-month, full-time, open-rank positions that require PhD credentials. They will both work with the Director and Associate Director to carry out CSTAT's mission and will provide statistical consulting services directly to our clients. We are seeking people who can increase the quality and quantity of sponsored research at MSU by contributing to pre-award statistical consulting, including grant preparation, writing analysis sections of grants, sample size planning, development of research specific aims and hypotheses, and tailoring statistical approaches to research aims. In addition, both positions require experience in: serving as the lead statistician on projects; publishing research; preparing bids (cost estimates); offering resources and advice to clients on research design and statistical methods; explaining concepts, methods, and how to run or interpret statistical analyses.
