Hi everyone,
I hope you are all keeping busy and enjoying a productive summer.
For those of you who are planning on attending the Conference on Statistical Practice in San Diego in February 2016, please consider submitting an abstract for a concurrent session dedicated to software, programming and graphics. You could combine any of these topics with statistical consulting for added impact.
Contributed sessions have a duration of 35 minutes and should highlight items which could improve the daily practice of other statisticians, data analysts, consultants, etc. Any hard-won insights you have developed this year can be massaged into an abstract - be it an elegant workflow, a clever way of doing things, a combination of software solutions, and so on.
While ASA does not offer any financial compensation to presenters of contributed sessions, this would be a great opportunity to establish your credentials as an excellent speaker with the conference participants and steering committee and increase your chances of having a short course accepted at the conference in following years.
Abstracts are due very soon (i.e., by June 25th) via the ASA website Abstract Submission.
