I am interested in talking with someone who knows very well the limitations, caveats, drawbacks of this method or has practical experience with it. This subject for instance is covered in Chapter 6 of Scheaffer, Mendenhall and Ott 6th Edition for example. Cochran also has a Chapter 6 about it and gives an important caveat about using it for estimation.
I don't want to start an email thread with everlasting life but if there is someone who would care to contact me I would appreciate it. I have experience with a number of methods such as the simple expansion estimator but am not very experienced in the characteristics of the ratio method as a regular estimation tool.
