At JSM we are celebrating the 175th anniversary of ASA. By sheer coincidence, my new historical book about the concept of probability and its role in modern statistics is being released the same week. As a kickoff, I will be holding a "meet the author" session. I will be speaking briefly about some of the surprising and controversial findings of my research and writing. There will be a ten-minute talk followed by a little Q & A about the book.
