  • 1.  Invitation for abstract submission for concurrent sessions - Conference on Statistical Practice 2015

    Posted 06-24-2014 12:08

    Dear colleagues,

    On behalf of the Organizing Committee for the ASA Conference on Statistical Practice 2015, I encourage you to consider submitting an abstract for a concurrent session via the website  http://www.amstat.org/meetings/csp/2015/abstracts.cfm.   The deadline for submission is coming up soon:  Thursday, June 26, 2014

    The abstract can cover any topic which aligns with the focus of the conference:  enabling conference participants to return to their jobs with new ideas, techniques, and strategies for improving their ability to practice statistics, communicate effectively, have a greater impact on their organizations, and advance their careers. Your chosen topic can span any one of the 4 broad conference themes:

    1.    Communication, Impact and Career Development;

    2.    Data Modeling and Analysis;

    3.    Big Data Prediction and Analytics;

    4.    Software, Programming and Graphics.

    Concurrent sessions are typically 35 minutes long and allow an additional 5 minutes for questions from the audience.  Sets of two concurrent sessions are grouped together into a 90-minute session.

    While presenters of concurrent sessions do not receive an honorarium from the conference organizers, they would have a valuable opportunity to build a strong relationship with the conference.

    Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions,

    Isabella

    Hi everyone,

    A further clarification on concurrent sessions for CSP 2014, which some of you have requested:

    For CSP, we don't have invited, topic contributed, or contributed sessions - we only have concurrent sessions.  All abstracts for concurrent sessions that are submitted are reviewed by the organizing committee and only a limited number of abstracts are accepted by the committee for inclusion in the conference program.

    Hope this helps,

    Isabella
