Dear Statistical Consulting Section Members,
<u5:p> </u5:p>Alex Hanlon and I would like to organize a topic-contributed panel discussion for JSM 2014 on 'collaborative statisticians advancing their careers in an academic setting'. We are seeking individuals to participate in this panel discussion. Tentatively, we would like to have statisticians from different academic career tracks (e.g., research, tenure, clinical educator, staff, etc.) compare and contrast position responsibilities, funding sources, teaching loads, administrative support, authorship policies, etc. and how these lead to promotion and advancement.
<u5:p> </u5:p>Session proposals are due mid-January. If you are interested in participating in this panel discussion, please send Alex (alhanlon@nursing.upenn.edu) or I (jsharp@clemson.edu) a personal message with your contact information and career track by December 15th so that we may have time to put together the session proposal. If approved, individual abstracts are due by February 3rd.
