    Open Rank Faculty Position

    Department of Statistics, Oregon State University

    The Department of Statistics at Oregon State University invites applications for a 9-month (1.0 FTE) tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank, starting September 16, 2014. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics, evidence of excellence in teaching and in independent and collaborative research in statistics. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels. To be considered at the Associate Professor or Professor level, the candidates must have teaching experience, research experience and publications commensurate with those levels to be granted the same rank at Oregon State University. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

    The Statistics Department has 14 faculty members and roughly 60 graduate students, and offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics. Current research interests of the faculty include Bayesian methods, environmental statistics, high dimensional data analysis, statistical ecology, sampling, statistical bioinformatics, and spatial statistics. The Statistics Department receives support for its academic program from the College of Science with supplemental funding provided by the College of Agricultural Sciences for research and consulting activities. Strong collaborative research ties are also maintained with the U.S. EPA Corvallis Environmental Research Lab, the Linus Pauling Institute, the Environmental Health Science Center, the Center for Genomic Research and Biocomputing, and several state and federal agencies involved with natural resource monitoring.
