  • 1.  Suggestions for web based survey/questionnaire software

This message has been cross posted to the following eGroups: Survey Research Methods Section and Statistical Consulting Section .
    -------------------------------------------
My colleague at a management consulting company conducts a web-based survey after the end of their training course.
The attendance at the courses ranges from 10-50 people.

They currently use a web questionnaire feature of webex. (I had never heard of that module, this link seems to describe it
    http://www.ehow.com/how_6943959_make-survey-using-webex.html).

My colleague would appreciate recommendations for another web based questionnaire software package.

In the past I have used "surveymonkey" and it is relatively inexpensive.

I'd appreciate suggestions/links  for web-based questionnaire software, and would especially appreciate  pro's or con's of the software.

    Thank you in advance.

I recommend QUALTRICS research software for surveys.  Qualtrics is available through many university licenses. For the right project, it can also be cost-effective for even the small consulting firm.  Qualtrics offers many types of template questions; easy programming methodology to set up complex if/skip questions and question flow; good-looking design template choices, ability to insert audio/video, response summaries, graphs and charts; Excel and other research database output; web administration with the ability to customize email invitations/reminders; and responsive customer support.

Go to qualtrics.com and go under the Products tab choose Research Suites and Request a Demo. I believe that Qualtrics will have any feature you need.

Survey Monkey is very limited compared to Qualtrics; I am not familiar with the WebEx feature.

I would also recommend Qualtrics. My contact person is Ryan Condie: ryanc@qualtrics.com  He is always very helpful and accommodating. I agree with Alice; Qualtrics is cost effective, they were able to create survey skins just the way we wanted, they also assisted us with uploading translations and I was also able to send multiple surveys at the same time to unique users. Qualtrics provides training both on-line and 1:1. I have used them several times and overall a very good experience. I did have some issues with setting up really complex surveys and logic but they were able to determine the issue and correct it so that my survey launced successfully.

I have used keysurvey in the past. It has been a while since I used this software but I don't remember having a bad experience. You may also want to check them out to compare cost and methodology.

    Hi Chris,

Though I have not used it myself, some of my contacts are quite positive about QuestionPro (http://www.questionpro.com/).

    Cheers,

We have been using Survey Generator and are quite satisfied. It's easy to use, and the customer service has been really helpful. They have even adapted features we needed for our applications. We have also created a bank of questions whick we managed to import to SG using R to create the syntax.

    Hope it helps.
