Dear colleagues:
I am a working statistician and software developer who is looking for a mentor. I am willing to pay for the mentorship. This has nothing to do with any particular project; my goal is to make sure that I am not missing on some professional opportunities where I could be way happier than I am at my current job.
Mentors who provide such services exist in many areas. E.g., my wife, a tenure-track professor, managed to find one in academia. She did pay for his services and it was worth it. The chance that such mentors/consultants exist among applied statisticians should be higher, and I don't want to miss it. I know that ASA started a pilot mentorship program, CAS, but I didn't make the deadline this year.
About myself: I graduated with a PhD in Statistics and M.S. in Computational Finance from Purdue in 2009 and I have had about 3 years of industry experience. If you think you could help me, please respond via ntuzov-at-gmail.com
Regards,
Nik Tuzov, PhD
