Hello colleagues,
Does anyone have a template agreement form for hiring a sub-contractor? From time to time we have too much work and we call on our statistical colleagues (maybe you!) for help. Due to a recent sour experience, we have realized that we should have a formal agreement for these occasions.
A while back I retained an attorney to draw up such an agreement, but the attorney drew on one of her templates that was so different from our world that I could not use it. Then again, a business colleague gave me his template, but it was very lengthy and was set up to address potentially adversarial situations and every conceivable thing that could happen. It would be a major effort to adapt it to our situation.
I am looking for something pretty simple that would establish the sub-contractor as an independent entity (paying their own taxes), provide protection for confidential information, prevent soliciting work from our clients, state the scope of work, rate of pay, cap on total cost, etc.
If you do have a template, you can respond directly to me at
nayak@mwlight.com or share it with the group, if you feel it will be of general interest.
Thank you very much,
Nayak
