Hi All,

I am interested in comparing a few different survey instruments that have been developed to measure patient trust in the physician.  Other than reviewing the few articles that describe how the individual instruments were developed and tested, what else can I compare?

What statistical procedures are normally involved in a new survey instrument validity and reliability testing?  Any help will be appreciated.

I am very fond of the book by Norman and Streiner, Health Measurement Scales. It takes the process apart to all of the individual steps and gives a great overall picture of validating a new instrument.
