Dear Section members,
I made a campaign promise in my bio when I ran for chair, that I would summarize the section membership- which I fulfill -in part- here today. :)
The reason "in part"- . I belatedly discovered today that the file structure maintained by ASA had changed between the 2022 version and the 2023 version I received today. Thus I have attached only one very simple summary of the field collected by ASA for the country where the section member is employed.
I will in a separate post later this week or next summarize other information collected in the membership file such as year joined. As a preview the ASA collects year joined the section and there are some "life" members of ASA , the earliest "ASA lifetime" member joined the section in 1955! .

The countries where Consulting Section Member report they work "span the globe" .
The PDF figure shows that 1247 consulting section members report they work in 41 countries. Caveat emptor: There are 40 section members that left the country blank and that does not appear on the figure. and a further caveat. IN the pharmaceutical industry , I would have had a second statistician to replicate the results here. In the interest of showing the variety of countries, I dispensed with that step for today.
