Research Scientist, Biostatistics Support

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time PhD-level biostatistician to provide analytical support for researchers across the institution. This is a hard money position that will report to the Office of the Dean or designee and hold a faculty appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Department of Medicine.
The successful candidate will provide consultation and assistance on research projects for faculty, research staff, and students in training. Examples of support include study design, statistical analysis, analysis plans for grants, participating in teaching seminars on biostatistics to faculty, trainees as well as potentially supervising master level biostatisticians. Other opportunities, such as teaching and collaborating on externally funded grants, are possible and encouraged. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics or related field (e.g., data science) and preferably have experience with biomedical research, such as clinical research and basic to translational science applications. They should also have excellent oral and written communication skills, a demonstrated record of collaborative research or statistical consulting.
