Many remember Doug as a very well respected and active member of the Consulting community and a pioneer in the human side of statistical work, including his video-based coaching approach. Many more were personally touched by his coaching and mentoring.
We have recently established (in the last 2 weeks!) the ASA Douglas A. Zahn Grant for Interpersonal Excellence. The grant, conceived and proposed by his students and mentees, will continue to advance Doug's vision by promoting activities that improve the interpersonal skills of statisticians and data scientists.
