I want "cyber" coverage for potential data breaches too, and it seems not all companies offer that. In a nutshell, RT Specialty is offering $1M coverage for professional liability with $1000 deductible, plus Cyber/Data breach coverage of $1M with $2500 deductible, for about $1300 annually, via this local broker.

I have no knowledge of RT Specialty, but for what it is worth, I have been using Liberty Mutual Business Insurance for my consulting business. It costs around $2000 for $2Million coverage. I have had companies who wanted up to $20 Million coverage but have been able to negotiate with them to accept the level I have. Liberty Mutual would not offer that level at any price. It has never been necessary to file a claim, but it is a reputable business and I use the non-business side of the company for my personal insurance on car and home and have found them helpful and easy to work with.

I'm working with an insurance broker for my nascent solo consulting business. He's come up with several proposals from various companies. This one from RT Specialty seems to be the most suitable to my needs. I've never heard of the company before, but then again, I have no experience in this market. Any opinions welcome. Thanks.
