Does anyone have a good introduction to Cox proportional hazards models (preferably using R, or SPSS if not R)? The person in question is a social science researcher, so has had the basic graduate statistics.

    Thanks!

    Bernard Hi!

    I refer to Therneau

regularly. But there are probably some more modern resources out there.

    Cheers,

The 1972 paper introducing the Cox proportional hazards regression model is one of the most widely cited statistical articles. In the present article, we give an account of the model, with a detailed description of its properties, and discuss the marked influence that the model has had on both statistical and medical research.
