Dear collaborative and consulting statisticians,
At the 2022 ACTStat Annual Meeting, two groups of academic collaborative statisticians discussed the qualities of non-statistician collaborators. We identified qualities that tend to yield fruitful relationships and those that tend to yield nothing (or worse). Our goal was to leverage our shared knowledge and individual experiences to facilitate more successful collaborative and consulting relationships.
The ACTStat board now wishes to disseminate our group’s collective wisdom to all practicing statisticians. We have created a survey to collect your feedback on the qualities that are most important to you. The survey is anonymous and should only take 4-6 minutes to complete. Responses will be collected and summarized in a subsequent publication.
The survey is available at https://forms.office.com/r/znDEdLYEFh. Please complete it by 6/23/2023 if you would like your aggregated responses to be included in subsequent publications.
We encourage you to share this survey with other practicing collaborative/consulting statisticians. We believe its content is a valuable learning opportunity for students, staff, faculty, and more.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ryan Peterson, PhD

P.S. There's still time to register for ACTStat 2023 in Toronto right before JSM for those interested!
