  • 1.  Call for Invited Session Proposals for JSM 2026

    Posted 08-12-2025 12:30

    Dear Statistical Consulting members,

It was wonderful connecting with so many of you at JSM this year!

It hardly seems possible that planning is already beginning for JSM 2026 but here we are.  I'm writing to remind you that the submission period for invited session proposals for JSM 2026 is now open with the theme of "Communities in Action: Advancing Society". We strongly encourage you to submit a proposal and feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss your ideas further. I want to encourage submissions from those in both academic and non-academic/industry settings.

Proposals must be submitted online by September 3, 2025 (11:59 pm EST). Invited sessions come in various formats but are generally 110 minutes long and include a session chair and 2–6 participants. Common formats include sessions with 2–3 speakers and a discussant, or panel discussions with 3–5 panelists.

For comprehensive details on submitting an invited session proposal, please visit the submission site: Submissions. Please email meetings@amstat.org if you encounter difficulties in submission.

To submit a proposal, organizers will need the following information:

    • Session Type (Invited Paper or Invited Panel)
    • Sponsor (JSM partner society/ASA section or committee, Memorial, etc.) - Please list Statistical Consulting as your first choice if you think it is a good fit for our section!
    • Session Title
    • Session Description (including focus, content, timeliness, appeal, and format)
    • Session organizer's affiliation and email address
    • Session chair's affiliation and email address
    • Session speakers and any discussants, including their affiliations and email addresses

We appreciate your attention and eagerly anticipate your innovative and engaging proposals for JSM 2026. Again, if you have any questions or want to discuss any ideas further please don't hesitate to reach out!
