    General Description

    • Direct Supervisor:  Department Chair, Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology              
    • FTE: 100%, 12-month appointment
    • Appointment Type: Tenure Track
    • Title/Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor
    • Designation: George Kaiser Family Foundation Professorship
    • Primary Location: OU-Tulsa Schusterman Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Assist in the direction, organization, and evaluation process of the education, research, and service activities of the department.
    • Teach graduate courses.
    • Serve on and chair masters and doctoral committees.
    • Conduct both independent biostatistical/statistical methodological research and collaborative research.
    • Develop and sustain an active portfolio of extramurally funded research.
    • Conduct research and disseminate findings to the academic, professional, and local communities.
    • Mentor investigators across campus and at partner institutions in research design and data analysis and providing statistical consultation and collaborative research support.
    • Participate in faculty governance and oversight through committee membership at the department, college, and university levels.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or other appropriate University authority.

    Required and Preferred Qualifications 

    Required

    • Doctoral degree (Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science, or Doctor of Public Health) in biostatistics/statistics or a closely related field.
    • Record of publications in peer-reviewed national or international scholarly journals.
    • Evidence of potential to obtain extramural funding.
    • Evidence of at least 1 to 2 years teaching experience and mentoring students.

    Preferences (Not Required)

    • Evidence of mentorship experience for junior researchers
    • Previous leadership experience in clinical and translational research.
