Call for Nominations for 2017 COPSS Awards

The COPSS Awards are multi-society awards and as such, are presented at the Joint Statistical Meetings each year.  In 2017, four awards will be presented:  The Fisher Award and Lectureship, the Presidents' Award, the F. N. David Award, and the Snedecor Award.

The nomination deadline for the 2017 Fisher Award is December 15, 2016;  the deadline for the other awards is January 15, 2017.

Only the winner of the Fisher award is announced before the JSM award ceremony.

2016 COPSS Award Winners

The 2016 COPSS Award Ceremony took place on August 3, 2016, in Chicago. Congratulations to the three winners: Alice S. Whittemore (Stanford University) won the R.A. Fisher Award, Amanda L Golbeck (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences) won the Elizabeth A. Scott Award, and Nicolai Meinshausen (ETH Zurich) won the Presidents' Award.

COPSS Welcomes New Officers

Congratulations to Nick Horton (Amherst College) and Wendy Lou (University of Toronto)!   Nick is the new Chair of COPSS and Wendy is the new Secretary / Treasurer.  Both will serve in these positions through December of 2018.

On behalf of all COPSS members, we thank them for agreeing to take on these roles, and look forward to their active engagement and leadership.
