What is Australasia?
The
Australasian continent has a population of 39 million people living in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands (including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and Vanuatu). Statisticians from Australasia have made a significant contribution to the international statistical community (contributions such as the creation of the R programming language), and are proud to be represented at the Joint Statistical Meetings of the American Statistical Association.
