The primary objectives of the Friends of Australasia are to:
- Inform American audiences about statistical developments from the Australasian region.
- Encourage ASA members to make working visits to the Australasian region.
- Promote the establishment and continuation of research collaborations between statisticians in the US and Australasia.
- Contribute to the development of statistical expertise in developing nations in the Pacific Island region.
