WEATHER INFORMATION (DRESS
APPROPRIATELY):
Here are some links and information about Hatcher Pass:
For general, Southcentral Alaska forecast information:
http://pafc.arh.noaa.gov/
If you tap the Public forecasts hypertext on the left you'll find a map
with zones. Then tap the number in the zone and you'll get that forecast
information.
The zone forecast for that area including Hatcher Pass is:
http://pafc.arh.noaa.gov/pubfcst.php?fcst=FPAK51PAFC#AKZ111.
Most of this
information concerns the communities of Palmer and Wasilla.
Basically, in late May, if rain is in the forecast it could mean snow in
Hatcher Pass; and cloudy conditions could indicate rain or snow in Hatcher Pass.
And the current condtions (observations) with a little work can be found at:
http://pafc.arh.noaa.gov/obs.php
Here you'll see a Site--Select Site scroll and you'll need to select Hatcher
Pass off of the list. By default you are given 6 hours of weather information
but you can change that with the Hours scroll. Note information is in Zulu (GMT)
time and at the upper right there is the current time in AK Daylight Time and
Zulu (GMT) time.
