    Dear Colleagues,

I'm reaching out to share some info about two summer internship opportunities available at the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) for graduate students who are passionate about Data Science and Psychometrics. These internships offer a unique experience in applied statistics of large-scale testing programs.

Data Science Track: This internship provides practical experience in data processing, analysis techniques, and the application of computer science and machine learning in testing and assessment. It is particularly relevant for those interested in natural language processing, large language models, or fraud detection. We're open to various research topics, provided they align with our primary research goals.

Psychometric Track: This opportunity offers comprehensive experience in test development, including involvement with the NCLEX exams and exploration of current measurement topics. It includes projects related to areas like item scoring, test design, and model diagnostics.

Our internships aim to connect academic research with practical applications, leading to opportunities for conference submissions and manuscript publications. The program spans eight weeks and starts June 3rd (flexible). For more details and application procedures, please visit our job posting here If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at wmuntean@ncsbn.org

Please pass this along to your colleagues and consider this opportunity for interested students. Additionally, for graduate advisors interested in longer-term research projects (e.g., graduate student funding), take a look at our Technical Advisory Committee proposal center.

    Best,

    Will
