The fifth Lifetime Data Science (LiDS) Conference will take place from June 9 to June 11, 2027, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, under the theme "Rethinking Lifetime Data Science: A Defining Moment." The conference will bring together researchers and practitioners working at the forefront of lifetime data science, with a program featuring two distinguished keynote speakers who are leading figures in survival analysis, one day of short courses, and two days of parallel invited sessions. A banquet will serve as a special highlight of the conference, offering an opportunity for participants to connect and celebrate the LiDS community. Milwaukee provides an excellent setting for this event, with a vibrant academic, technology, pharmaceutical, and health care ecosystem. Building on the success of previous LiDS conferences held in 2017, 2019, 2023, and 2025, the 2027 conference will offer an engaging forum for sharing recent advances, exchanging ideas, and shaping future directions in lifetime data science.

Keynote speakers: 


Dean Follmann, Ph.D.

Dean Follmann earned degrees in Mathematics from Elgin Community College and Northern Illinois University and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Ph.D. in Statistics in 1985.  Prior to founding the Biostatistics Research Branch in 2002, he worked at the Center for Naval Analyses and the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. He has authored or co-authored more than 250 peer-reviewed research articles and received numerous awards, including the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary’s Award for Distinguished Service, the Best Paper in Biometrics 2009, and is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association. He serves on committees and advisory boards for the US Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, philanthropic organizations, and academic departments. Current research interests focus on statistical methods related to vaccinology.
