The Iowa Chapter's first Annual Poster Competition and Business Meeting was a success!

  • Around 50 total attendees!
  • A large group for our Chapter Meeting. Many great ideas were shared.
  • The interim chapter representatives were conferred. Kai, Tyler, Emily, and Sean will continue to serve at least until the next election cycle in the Fall of 2024. See the bottom of this page for more details on your e-board!
  • Three $200 awards were given to students for:
    • Favorite poster (Voters Choice): Ashlynn Perkins, Graceland University
    • Most impactful poster award: Mingyue Hu, Iowa State University 
    • Best poster presentation: Amy Wu, University of Iowa

The next anticipated Iowa Chapter event is the Fall or Spring of the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • eCOTS (electronic conference on teaching statistics) by CAUSE (Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education). See https://causeweb.org/cause/ecots/ecots24
  • Regional, in-person event at Iowa State University on Friday, June 14th. See https://www.stat.iastate.edu/ecots
  • Full confernece  is June 10th, 2024, to June 13th, 2024 with workshops on June 7th, 14th, and 18th. 
  • Very affordable registration ($25 or less).
