The Iowa Chapter's first Annual Poster Competition and Business Meeting was a success!

  • Around 50 total attendees!
  • A large group for our Chapter Meeting. Many great ideas were shared.
  • The interim chapter representatives were conferred. Kai, Tyler, Emily, and Sean will continue to serve at least until the next election cycle in the Fall of 2024. See the bottom of this page for more details on your e-board!
  • Three $200 awards were given to students for:
    • Favorite poster (Voters Choice): Ashlynn Perkins, Graceland University
    • Most impactful poster award: Mingyue Hu, Iowa State University 
    • Best poster presentation: Amy Wu, University of Iowa

Chapter Events

The next anticipated Iowa Chapter event is the Spring of the 2024-2025 academic year. Iowa Chapter's second Annual Poster Competition and Business Meeting.

Other Events

USCOTS 2025 will be held at Iowa State University in Ames, IA from July 17-19, 2025, with pre-conference events (workshops, research satellite, liberal arts symposium) starting on July 15th.  Please consider attending and even better, consider submitting a proposal (or more than one) for an interactive breakout session, pre-conference workshop, posters and beyond contribution, research satellite talk or poster, or a birds of a feather discussion topic. Deadlines are:
  • December 15th, 2024 for proposing a pre-conference workshop
  • December 15th, 2024 for proposing an interactive breakout session
  • January 27th, 2025 for proposing a research satellite poster or presentation
  • March 3rd, 2025 for proposing a posters and beyond contribution
  • June 20th, 2025 for proposing a birds of a feather discussion
