Dear Colleagues,
Please see the following invitation from Dione Maxwell, leader of the ASA Statistics Project Competition:
A few more days to sign up! We Need YOU! to help with the 2026 ASA Statistics Project Competition
Please consider serving the Statistics community. Click on the link below to sign up to help with this year's competition by reading and judging papers. Here is more information based on a few questions I've received:
You will be assigned a few papers, no longer than 10 pages in total length. After reading the paper, you score it in a few designated categories. Multiple judges rate the same paper. The highest scoring papers move on to the next round.
Please consider volunteering as a competition judge. This would be a great low-key opportunity to see the work of statistics students from across the country and to get ideas for your classroom. All statistically minded people are welcome to join! You can sign up for a single round of judging, or both rounds. (Both rounds happen AFTER the AP Reading in Tampa.)
Judges will be asked to review, at most, 6-8 projects (less with more judges), in Round 1 and fewer projects in Round 2. Round 1 is typically three weeks ending in mid-late June (flexibility for AP Readers) and Round 2 is typically two weeks, ending in early-mid July. After the two rounds of judging the winners are chosen.
Please complete this Google Form by FRIDAY, MAY 29 if you are willing to serve as a judge.
