Hello Members of the Statistical Consulting Section,
In addition to Dr. Hedlin's offer for a poster session, I would like to propose a topic-contributed paper session for JSM. These sessions are a great way to present your work or a case study about consulting.
Title: Maximizing Professional Partnerships: Lessons Learned About Effective Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Description: Interdisciplinary collaboration goes beyond technical reporting. Practitioners solve domain problems by blending statistics with storytelling, connection, and actionable insight. Their work mobilizes domain experts to advance society alongside statisticians. This session offers ideas and frameworks for maximizing the impact of cross-discipline partnerships.
Chair: Eric Vance or Heather Smith
The title and description are open to feedback. My talk would be on "Advancing the ASCCR Frame with Impact Evaluation." This paper addresses the need for tools that allow researchers and professionals to not only measure the impact of their collaborative projects but also to plan for it from the outset.
I'm looking for 3-4 more talks about specific lessons learned for effective statistical collaboration/consultation. Do you have a refined practice or workflow that aspiring collaborators could learn from?
Please send me a message at
jpalme20@calpoly.edu if you are interested in joining by
Thursday, December 4th.
Thanks,
Jett Palmer
