ASA Connect

In case you are not aware, Professor Doug Zahn passed away on July 3, 2023. 

Doug Zahn's service will be held on Saturday, July 15^th at 11 AM at Killearn Methodist Church.

I know many of you may have read his books and maybe had the pleasure of meeting him.

Doug and I both went to Waverly High school (Waverly, Iowa).  I was 2 years ahead of Doug.  Doug was always friendly and easy-going.  When I became a Fellow with the ASA, Doug and his wife were there to greet me.   What are the odds that a high-school in a small town (8,000 population) would produce two Fellows of the American Statistical Association?    My condolences.  RIP.

Thank you for sharing this information.  I had courses from Professor Zahn in the early 1970's.  These were generic intro stat classes that kindled my interest in statistics.
