    In case you are not aware, Professor Doug Zahn passed away on July 3, 2023. 

    Doug Zahn's service will be held on Saturday, July 15th at 11 AM at Killearn Methodist Church.

    I know many of you may have read his books and maybe had the pleasure of meeting him.

    Doug and I both went to Waverly High school (Waverly, Iowa).  I was 2 years ahead of Doug.  Doug was always friendly and easy-going.  When I became a Fellow with the ASA, Doug and his wife were there to greet me.   What are the odds that a high-school in a small town (8,000 population) would produce two Fellows of the American Statistical Association?    My condolences.  RIP.

    Thank you for sharing this information.  I had courses from Professor Zahn in the early 1970's.  These were generic intro stat classes that kindled my interest in statistics.

    I was a grad student of Doug's and his teaching assistant during the late '80s. What a privilege to continue to learn from him and call him professor and friend. I'll pass your comments on to Andrea.
