Committee on Funded Research

The ASA Committee on Funded Research (CFR) is hosting again its annual meeting at JSM for attendees to learn about funding opportunities directly from representatives of funding agencies. "Funding Opportunities for Statistics and Data Science" is scheduled for 12:15-1:45 pm on Sunday, August 3 in CC-207B. This meeting has been very well attended in past years and I hope that you'll be part of it this year. 

The agenda for this year's meeting is still being developed. So far speakers from the following have been invited: 

• Yong Zeng, NSF Division of Mathematical Sciences, slides.
• Theresa Kim, Health Systems and Pragmatic Clinical Studies Program Office, Division of Behavioral and Social Research, National Institute of Aging, NIH;
• Jinghua Ou, PCORI, slides. 
• Kate Calder, University of Texas, sharing her NIH perspective and advice. 
• Various other NIH representatives have also been invited

If you have suggestions for funding for agencies/divisions not covered above, please let CFR Committee Chair Bo Li know. 

Each representative will speak for approximately five to seven minutes with five to ten minutes immediately following for questions for that speaker.

The ASA Committee on Funded Research also sponsors the ASA Community Group Funding Opportunities where solicitations for various funding opportunities are circulated. You can join the group here.
