ASA Committee on Funded Research to Host Funding Opportunities Meeting at 2015 JSM

The ASA Committee on Funded Research (CFR) will again be hosting a meeting at JSM for attendees to learn about funding opportunities directly from representatives of funding agencies. "Funding Opportunities for Statistics" is scheduled for 12:15-1:45 pm on Sunday, August 9 in CC-4C1. [START TIME MOVED TO 12:15.] The committee is trying a new time this year because there will be fewer scheduling conflicts with the JSM sessions not beginning until 2 pm Sunday. Please watch this space for further details of location and confirmed speakers. This meeting has been very well attended in past years and I hope that you'll be part of it this year.

  • Cheryl Eavey, Program Director of the NSF Methodology, Measurement, and Statistics program in the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences Directorate, 2014 JSM Slides, confirmed, Slides
  • Gregory K. Farber, Director, Office of Technology Development and Coordination, National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), NIH, to speak on BRAIN Initiative opportunities, confirmed, Slides
  • Jason Gerson, Associate Director, CER Methods and Infrastructure, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), confirmed, Slides
  • Peter Kozel, NIH Scientific Review Officer, Biostatistical Methods and Research Design Study Section (BMRD), to speak on NIGMS funding opportunities, confirmed, Slides
  • Deborah Lockhart, Deputy Division Director, Division of Information and Intelligent Systems, NSF Directorate for Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering (CISE), confirmed, Slides

Each representative will speak for about ten minutes and then the rest of the 90 minutes will be Q&A.
