2020 ENVR Section Data Challenge

Interested in a fun, data-oriented challenge? Put together a team for the ENVR Data Challenge! 

The Section on Statistics and the Environment (ENVR) is excited to announce the 2020 ENVR Data Challenge.  The competition is open to student groups of up to 4 participants (and, may include one additional non-student senior collaborator).  This contest challenges participants to analyze the environmental data sets described below using statistical, machine learning, and visualization tools and methods.  The submission due date is July 1, 2020, and each team will provide one submission (see below).

Welcome to the ASA Student Chapter at Montana State University

The American Statistical Association at Montana State University is a student group focused on developing the statistical community at MSU and in Bozeman. If you are a student (graduate or undergraduate), faculty, or community member who is interested in using, studying or developing statistics, data science, or machine learning, this is the club for you!

ASA Information Session November 14

What are we up to? 

Stop by Wilson Hall on November 14 between 11 and 1 to meet and greet with other members of the ASA Student Chapter! We will have pizza and will be providing an open forum for members of the statistical community to give their input on the direction of the ASA! 

We are actively looking for students who are interested in taking on leadership roles within the ASA. If you're interested in pursuing a leadership position within the ASA, please let us know via email (paulharmongj@gmail.com) and stop by the meeting on November 14! 

What is the ASA? 

We are dedicated to growing, maintaining, and strengthening the statistical community at Montana State.  Do you like statistics/data science? Interested in hearing about career opportunities, professional development, fun networking events, or giving back to the community?  The ASA @ MSU is for you! 

Who are we? 
Graduate students, undergraduates, researchers, and faculty are all welcome! We'd love to have folks from all backgrounds - whether you study statistics or you just use it as a tool for research, we'd love to have you! 
What do we  do? 
We hold networking events, social events, special professional development seminars, and host talks from visitors to campus.  Additionally, we perform community service and volunteer.  Our goal is to build a community of
