Statistical Consulting Event for KAUST Researchers

This event aims to:

1. Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen connections between Statistics department and other departments at

KAUST.

2. Serve as an outreach initiative of the KAUST ASA Student Chapter, promoting the application of

statistical expertise within the university community.

Description:

Participants must provide some of their study details upon registration. Each consultation session will last a minimum of one hour. While the event is designed for one-time consultations, potential research collaborations are encouraged. The ASA Student Chapter of KAUST will assign a team of consultants to each registered guest. Each team will consist of at least one PhD student and one Master’s student, with postdoctoral researchers welcome to join based on availability. 

The ASA committee reserves the right to decline registrations deemed unsuitable for the event. Please note that this event only provides a one-day statistical consultation; requests for data analysis or data validation will not be accommodated.

Introduction to Rcpp by Prof. Dirk Eddelbuettel

DESCRIPTION:
Professor Dirk Eddelbuettel is the author of the open-source software package Rcpp, which enables you to implement R functions in C++, and has also written the textbook Seamless R and C++ Integration with Rcpp on the topic. In addition, he has contributed to many packages in R as well as the Debian project. He is also a co-creator of the Rocker Project bringing Docker to R.
