Awards

This annual award was established in 2011 by Dr. Subhash C. Bagui in memory of his late parents, Paresh C. Bagui & Khodan B. Bagui. This prize is awarded at the Florida Chapter of the American Statistical Association's annual meeting.

The organizers of the Chapter's annual meeting select the winner based on their own selection criteria. Preference is given to student speakers. In lieu of suitable student speakers, the award candidate pool may be extended to tenure earning faculty members. In addition to scholarly recognition, the award includes a cash prize of $100.00.

Dr. Bagui is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of West Florida. Over the years he has been very active in Chapter activities, including serving as Chapter president, vice president and secretary / treasurer.

This annual award was established in 2014 by Dr. Babette Brumback. This prize is awarded at the Florida Chapter of the American Statistical Association's annual meeting. The organizers of the Chapter's annual meeting select the winner based on their own criteria for choosing the best student presentations.

In addition to scholarly recognition, the award includes a cash prize of $100.00.

Dr. Brumback is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Florida. Dr. Brumback previously served as Chapter president and secretary / treasurer.

This annual award was established in 2011 by Dr. Ji-Hyun Lee in memory of her parents. This prize is awarded at the Florida Chapter of the American Statistical Association's annual meeting. The organizers of the Chapter's annual meeting select the winner based on their own selection criteria. Preference is given to student speakers.

Dr. Lee is a Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Florida and Director of the Division of Quantitative Sciences for the University of Florida Health Cancer Center. Dr. Lee previously served as Chapter vice president and secretary / treasurer.
