Dear ASA Community,
I write to make you aware of two disclosure avoidance webinars next week. The first, on Monday, July 13 at 12pm ET, is on the Commerce Department's
new policy restricting the privacy protection methods used by the Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). Titled, "Banning 'Statistical Noise': Understanding DAO 216-26 and Its Consequences," the webinar is hosted the Census Quality Reinforcement (CQR) Task Force and co-sponsored by the ASA and the Association of Public Data Users. Please register
here. Details about speakers and the agenda will be shared with registrants later this week.
The second webinar, organized by the Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology's Confidentiality and Data Access Interest Group in partnership with the ASA's Committee on Privacy and Confidentiality, is Wednesday, July 15 at 3pm ET and is titled, "Disclosure Avoidance and the Federal Statistical System." It is advertised as the first in a recurring virtual seminar series exploring privacy, confidentiality, and related issues in statistics and data science. Please register here.
Best,
Steve
