Dear ASA Members, especially those involved in Cancer Research,
I hope this message finds you well.
As I briefly mentioned during the 2023 JSM, Nature Medicine and ASA have recently developed a new MOU. This partnership aims to establish a statistical editorial board (SEB) for Nature Medicine.
Historically, statistical reviewers were invited on an informal basis. To ensure timely, consistent, and thorough evaluation of Nature Medicine clinical oncology trials, we are launching a pilot program and are now accepting applications for SEB membership in the field of oncology.
Each SEB member will serve for one year (with the possibility of renewal as the pilot phase continues) and be responsible for reviewing 6-7 clinical trial manuscripts annually. This may include expedited ('fast track') reviews at the member's discretion. Please note that peer review does not include financial compensation.
Applicants must be ASA members and have a minimum of five years of experience in medicine and public health science, especially focusing on cancer research, within the academic sector.
We will begin reviewing applications on April 10, 2024, and continue until the cohort is filled.
