Last week HHS notified staff that it is restructuring and effectively dismantling the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE) at ACF. Only mandated research is expected to continue, and all remaining work will require political appointee approval. OPRE has also housed critical data governance and statistical functions for ACF, including data sharing, data linkage, and administrative data analysis.

The Data Foundation is coordinating a sign-on letter to Secretary Kennedy that has gained over 60 organizations and more than 300 individuals, including former HHS leaders.
