- On May 1, 2026, Tennessee governor Bill Lee signed into law the "Charlie Kirk Act," prohibiting the state's public colleges and universities from disinviting campus speakers, among other stipulations.
- On April 16, 2026, Tennessee governor Bill Lee signed into law a bill amending the faculty disciplinary policies at the state's public higher education institutions to concentrate disciplinary authority in a single official, eroding procedural due process protections and shared governance.

- Help Build an Open Repository of Pro-Democracy Teaching and Learning Resources: The AAC&U is seeking submissions to a new, open-source collection of educational materials designed to strengthen learning for a democracy in question. They invite submissions for teach-ins, curricular inserts, and cross-disciplinary programs (including the humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, and professional studies).
