See below for information regarding NYC Open Data Week happening March 22–29, 2026. This may be a good opportunity for chapter members to meet with other data professionals and enthusiasts. Feel free to reach out if anyone has interest in crafting a proposal for an event. My understanding is there is more interest in creating interactive activities showcasing results derived using datasets hosted by NYC Open Data, as opposed to a standard academic style lecture about e.g. new methods. There should also be a call for volunteers put out in early 2026 if you are interested in participating in another way.
The NYC Open Data Team at the Office of Technology and Innovation, BetaNYC, and Data Through Design have published their call for proposals for NYC Open Data Week 2026, including BetaNYC's NYC School of Data and Data Through Design's art exhibition.
The NYC Open Data Week curation team seeks presentations, talks, workshops, demos, and visualizations celebrating NYC, open data, and digital equity. Submit a proposal for 2026's Open Data Week and School of Data by December 15! The deadline to submit a concept to Data Through Design is November 2. Learn more at opendataweek.nyc
